Speak your language.
Write directly in English.
Voice translation combines two steps: understanding what you say and producing natural text in another language. On Mac, that flow can happen directly in Mail, Messages, Slack or your browser.
Dictation, transcription and translation
Dictation turns speech into text in the same language. Translated dictation adds a second step and produces the result in the target language. It removes the usual cycle of dictating, copying, opening a translator and returning to the conversation.
When is voice translation useful?
- Replying to an English-speaking customer in Mail or Gmail.
- Writing a Slack or WhatsApp message without searching for every word.
- Preparing an English prompt for a professional tool.
- Creating a first draft before reviewing names, dates and technical terms.
How to use it with NeverTyping
Choose your spoken language and translation output to English in Settings.
Place the cursor in the target app’s text field.
Hold right-click, fn or your configured shortcut.
Speak naturally, then release to insert the result.
If the cursor is over the widget when you release, NeverTyping can also trigger sending according to your selected mode. The first-run tutorial lets you practice this behavior before using it in a real conversation.
Privacy and current limits
NeverTyping recognizes 100 languages, while translated dictation currently targets English. Voice processing is designed to remain on your Mac. As with any translator, review amounts, names, legal wording and specialist terminology before sending.
